Medicare Part B premiums to rise in 2025: See how much

Medicare Part B premiums will rise in 2025, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced.
The standard monthly premium for Part B services will increase by $10.30 in 2025 to a new total of $185. That’s an increase of about 5.9%, similar to the premium hike Medicare beneficiaries saw this year.
The annual deductible for Part B will be $257 next year, an increase of $17 from 2024. That’s a jump of about 7%.
Medicare Part B is a key component of the federal health care program. It covers numerous items, including doctor visits and outpatient services like lab tests and diagnostic screening.
Some Medicare Part A costs will also rise next year. Part A covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facilities, hospice and more.
The Part A hospital deductible, which beneficiaries pay if admitted to a hospital, will be $1,676 in 2025, an increase of $44 from 2024. Some coinsurance costs will increase as well, CMS said.
Nearly all Medicare beneficiaries don’t pay a premium for Part A services since they have at least 40 quarters of Medicare-covered employment, according to CMS.

The news on Medicare cost increases comes after the Social Security Administration announced an increase in benefits for next year of 2.5%.
That’s a smaller percentage hike than any of the Part B cost increases.
